Debating Matters UK 2016/17

Debating Matters offers a fresh, accessible and engaging format for debating contemporary issues. The competition has successfully pioneered a format for debate that takes ideas, argument and young people seriously. The focus is on content and substance over style, encouraging young people to engage in an intelligent contest of ideas and holding up their ideas to critical scrutiny.

Debating can be a great way of allowing your students to engage with a broad range of social, scientific and ethical issues that society faces today. If your school is not already involved in schools debating, find out why you should be. If your school has no debate club, or has never taken part in a schools debating competition before, then do try Debating Matters this year! Our Beginners’ Resource Pack will help you get started. We’d be happy to take your call and answer any question you might have about the competition and getting involved this year - call Nadia Butt on 020 7269 9230.
