FILMCLUB
This year Debating Matters is delighted to be working in partnership with the education charity FILMCLUB to include film recommendations as part of our acclaimed Topic Guide resources. Each new Topic Guide will include a series of recommended films which explore, through the medium of film, some of the themes and issues raised by the debate motions, and schools wishing to access these films as part of their debate research can do so by joining FILMCLUB.
FILMCLUB is an education charity which helps schools establish film clubs. Founded in 2008, FILMCLUB now has 7000 schools, and close to 250,000 children meet each week to watch, discuss and review a diverse range of films. Thanks to funding from the Department for Education and Welsh Assembly, FILMCLUB is free to state-funded schools in England and Wales. In addition, LOVEFiLM provides films to the participating schools, allowing young people to access our curated catalogue of thousands of films.
Anyone can sign up to the FILMCLUB website to explore all their films, read reviews and features and learn more about the industry. Starting your own FILMCLUB is easy and joining is free.
