Bourne Grammar School

South Road Bourne Lincolnshire PE10 9JE

“A Grammar School existed in Bourne as early as the 14th century. The present Grammar School, however, originated from the bequest of William Trollope and was founded in 1636. The School moved to its present site in 1921 and occupies a pleasant site to the south of the Lincolnshire market town of Bourne.  It enjoys an enviable academic reputation and admits students from a wide area. Bourne Grammar is a mixed selective School and is voluntary controlled. In the last decade the school has expanded rapidly and there are now 994 students on roll including some 267 in the sixth form. This growth in student numbers has been matched by the development of the site: recent years have seen the opening of a number of impressive, well-appointed buildings. The school attaches great importance to the pursuit of academic excellence. It has a tradition of hard work, respect for achievement and sound discipline. Public examination results, at all levels, are outstanding”.
