“Buckhaven is a six year co-educational non-denominational comprehensive school with a current roll of 1226. The school’s origins date back to the 1860s and for many years it occupied a site in College Street . The present building has been in use since 1957 and in 1976 an extension was completed. The school is presently undergoing exciting new refurbishment work. The school has a range of facilities and is surrounded by extensive playing fields. In addition to the usual facilities there are open plan areas for Science, Technical Education and Home Economics, a Lecture Theatre, Assembly Hall and stage, a large Resources Centre, Language Classrooms, ICT rooms and Technology rooms, and a Games Hall”.
