“We are committed to our number one aim which is to enable all students to achieve their potential regardless of age, ability or background and this aim pervades policies and practice within school. We have high expectations, shared with our community and regularly reinforced with students and their families. The Every Child Matters outcomes are at the heart of all that we do and all that we stand for and are the key drivers of our School Improvement Plan. In 2002 we were successful in gaining Specialist School Status in the Performing Arts and, as a nationally recognised High Performing Specialist School, we added Maths and Computing as a second specialism in April 2007. We have been a member of the `Most improved schools` club` for three years running and are using our multi-specialist status to help facilitate innovative and creative teaching and learning, develop personalised pathways for students and support transition between all key stages. In November 2007 Ofsted Inspectors judged the School overall to be Outstanding and, importantly, also judged all of the key areas of inspection to be outstanding.”
