Highworth Grammar School for Girls

Quantock Drive Ashford Kent TN24 8UD

“Highworth Grammar School is a popular selective school of over 1100 students of whom over 280 are in the Sixth Form. There are six forms of entry and we provide a broad curriculum which enables girls to become independent and responsible members of the community. The emphasis is on achieving academic excellence whilst at the same time developing an awareness of others and fostering moral and spiritual values. We aim to create an enjoyment of learning and the confidence to explore a wide range of opportunities without regard to traditional stereotyping. The school was established in 1904 and moved to its present site in 1928. Since that time there has been a considerable amount of rebuilding and expansion and we now enjoy excellent facilities. All curriculum areas are based in specialist accommodation and we are well equipped with study and sports facilities and Information Technology provision. We are currently part of the Ashford Excellence Cluster and receive additional funding to support several initiatives, including work with Gifted and Talented students. We also have Music Specialist status for the school”.
