“Welcome to the Lawrence Sheriff website. I hope that as you explore the site you will get a flavour of the unique culture that underlies the school. Culture is sometimes defined as ‘the way we do things around here’ and I believe that this website provides a sense of the ‘way we do things’ at Lawrence Sheriff. The school is of course committed to academic excellence, and many features on the pages that follow will reflect that excellence. In September 2008 the school was redesignated a specialist college for Mathematics and Computing and offered a second specialism. We strongly believe that specialism is not just about our two lead subjects, but that it offers fresh and exciting opportunities for every part of the school.  The breadth of our academic achievement was reflected in OFSTED’s decision to name us as a ‘Particularly Successful School’ in 2008 (making us one of a small group of schools to receive this accolade three times). In the 2008 national GCSE league tables, Lawrence Sheriff was top school in the country.”
