Sir Vernon Ellis, Chair of the British Council, met with the winners of a number of recent British Council India run competitions, including Debating Matters India, in Kolkata to congratulate them on their achievements.

“The British Deputy High Commission in Kolkata had hosted a dinner in honour of Mr. Vernon Ellis’ first visit to the City of Joy and also to felicitate the winners of three competitions organised by the British Council. Debating Matters has become one of the most prestigious competitions in the student circuit now. The winner of the drama competition organised by the British Council was even willing to trade her position as best actress with us as winners of DMI! The competition has made me so much more zealous and pumped up about debating anywhere on anything. We simply cannot wait to have a healthy session of head on arguments with the British champions and savour the delights of London this October.”
