As well as holding a chair in law (and being Dean) at the UEA Law School, University of East Anglia. Alastair is an International Chamber of Commerce Arbitrator and has held visiting chairs at several foreign universities. His main research and teaching interests lie in the areas of the law of defamation, international commercial law and torts. He has published widely in these areas and is currently the general editor of the new edition of Carter-Ruck on Libel and Privacy.
