Ali works on knowledge transfer, and security, energy, environment and development matters at the Economic & Social Research Council, where she has worked since graduating with a degree in International Development with Politics from the University of Leeds. In addition, she works as a trustee for East African Playgrounds, a small charity that works alongside local NGOs, schools and organisations in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. Aside from this, Ali’s particular interests lie in the development and politics of Eastern Europe, having previously worked for non-governmental organisations in Ukraine and Romania.
