    Inspector - Prevent strategy

    Counter Terrorism Branch, Lancashire Constabulary

    With a BSc Honours degree in Physics and Mathematics, Andrea joined Merseyside Police in 1986 and later Lancashire Constabulary. Now an Inspector in HQ Counter Terrorism Branch she leads a team of Prevent community engagement staff and counter terrorism security advisors. Previously the local Inspector at Darwen she was very proud of the multi-agency team who achieved a 32% reduction in crime over 3 years. She also led on Specials recruitment and a successful Criminal Damage reduction group. Enjoying partnership and community work, lessons learnt particularly from experiences around sexual exploitation and vulnerable individuals, led her to working in Prevent.
