Andrew Knox is a group leader at Immunocore where he works within the Infectious Diseases Unit to develop novel therapies towards HBV, HIV and TB. Andrew joined Immunocore 7 years ago and previously worked in oncology & autoimmunity within the organisation. Andrew’s background is in molecular and cellular biology and research interests include the molecular mechanisms of human disease & therapy. He has previously worked on the regulation of the tumour suppressor protein p53, and the proteins NIPBL & Cohesin linked to the rare genetic disorder Cornelia de Lange Syndrome. He obtained his PhD at Newcastle University, investigating the regulation of ribosome biogenesis in human cells and how this is modulated during cellular differentiation and transformation. He obtained his Bsc and MRes from the University of York.
