Annette studied politics, philosophy and German in Freiburg and Berlin. She worked in Warsaw, New York and London as foreign correspondent and bureau chief. In 2001, Annette developed and directed the documentary series Abenteuer Glück as special correspondent for which she received the prestigious Adolf-Grimme-Preis and an International Emmy nomination.
