English Teacher/Debate Coach
Tunbridge Wells Girls' Grammar School
Beverley studied PPE at St Hughs College, Oxford, then went to work in the Civil Service for 10 years before leaving to work as Deputy Director with Richard Branson ‘s charity UK2000, and then as UK head of an Ethiopian development charity. After retraining as a teacher, she took up debate coaching, training students who have gone on to debate at many national finals, two students who have debated for England teams, and others who are actively engaged in university debating. Beverley has judged internationally and in the UK, in all formats: British Parliamentary, Mace, World Schools and Debating Matters. I also run the Kent Model United Nations General Assembly (MUNGA). Keen on lifelong learning, within the past few years Beverley has taken an MA in English literature, and a GCSE and A level in Italian. She is also a keen potter, and recently held her first exhibition.
