Dan is a tennis coach and has run a company delivering coaching programmes to children in Brighton and Hove. He released an e-book entitled How to teach Young Children Tennis in July 2006. Dan is a frequent contributor to the online publication spiked and has published a Manifesto Club Thinkpiece entitled In Defence of Competitive Sport. He is researching the erosion of sporting competition and has launched a campaign to bring back school sports day. He is co-founder of the Brighton Salon, inaugurated in January 2007 and now a regular feature on the Brighton cultural scene, with speakers invited from across the UK introducing and debating topics ranging from Western views on China to the changing nature of friendship. Dan has just completed his Msc at Birkbeck College, London in Social and Political Theory.
