    National Adviser for Emerging Technologies and Learning

    Derek’s role as a National Adviser for Emerging Technologies and Learning is to investigate just how we can effectively embed educational technologies into teaching and learning. He manages Learning and Teaching Scotland’s Consolarium, an initiative that explores the role and place of games based learning in classrooms. He has used games such as ‘Dr Kawashima’, ‘Nintendogs’ and ‘Guitar Hero’ in his work in schools across Scotland already. His brain age is 20, and his favourite game is ‘Nintendogs’.
