Dominic Ruddock is a recent graduate from Newcastle University, where he completed his honours degree in marine zoology in 2016. Dominic’s research focus was in coral reef health through a changing climate. This research, undertaken at the Cape Eleuthera Institute in the Bahamas, was presented at the 13th International Coral Reef Symposium. Another area of interest was in fisheries and their relation to global food security. Since leaving University Dominic spent a year working for PHE’s Radiation Protection department, working to protect public health from radiation exposure mainly from dental x-rays. Dominic is currently working as a free-lance web developer but his wider interests are in politics, a sphere that he intends to gravitate to in the future.
