    Originally from Florida, Duncan’s undergraduate work was at New College (BA in Maths and Chemistry, 1995), his graduate work was at Caltech (PhD in Inorganic Chemistry, 2001), and his post-graduate research was in the new fields of genomics and systems biology at MIT’s Whitehead Institute (2001-2006).  Since 2006, Duncan has lead a research team at the University of Cambridge looking at the complex relationships between evolution, genetic sequence, and tissue-specific transcription.  The team’s work work is also supported by the competitive European Research Council’s Starting Grant (2008), and the highly prestigious EMBO Young Investigator Award programme (2010).
