Elaine Hall is a Senior Researcher in the Centre for Learning and Teaching at Newcastle University, where she has worked for 14 years on a range of projects from the development of speech in young children to the motivation of adult learners. If she has learned anything in that time, it is the importance of being able to construct a coherent and well- supported argument!
