Hazel is Principal Lecturer and Director of the Centre for Career & Personal Development at Canterbury Christ Church University. She is the current chair of the Research Committee, as well as a Fellow of the Institute of Career Guidance, the National Institute for Career Education & Counselling, and of the Academy of Higher Education. She has published widely and presented papers at national and international conferences. She is involved in two career guidance projects funded by the EU and her current research is exploring the development of narrative thinking for career guidance and counselling.
