    Birmingham City Council

    Jacqui has spent her whole career working for Birmingham City Council in various roles.

    As Corporate Director for Place at Birmingham City Council, Jacqui is responsible for Housing, Waste, Culture & Visitor Economy, Library of Birmingham, Sports, Events, Parks, Birmingham Adult Education Services, Neighbourhoods and Communities and Regulatory & Enforcement Services.  Jacqui is the lead for tackling city centre management issues, leads for the region on homelessness prevention, child poverty and promoting financial inclusion in the city.  A key priority is community and neighbourhood development linking to improved outcomes re jobs and skills, health, economic growth, young people & children and housing & homes.  Most recently Jacqui was responsible for the successful handover of the Commonwealth Games to Birmingham as part of the closing ceremony in Gold Coast, and staging the Athletes’ Homecoming event in the City Centre in April.

    Jacqui was awarded an OBE for services to Local Government in the New Year Honours list 2009. 

    Jacqui is married to a Town Planner, and is an avid Aston Villa supporter, which she says gives her an interesting perspective on life!
