    Senior Lecturer in Law

    University of Northampton

    Prior to joining the University of Northampton James lectured in law at Birkbeck Law School, University of London, the University of East London, and the Open University. He is also a consultant solicitor with a central London firm. In practice as a solicitor he focused on dispute resolution, personal insolvency, and family law. At the University of Northampton he teaches across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses including Contract Law, European Law, Law & Society, and Law of Relationships. James’ research interests include theory of political trials, legal theory and legal culture, ethics of the legal profession, the procedures, and theatre of the trial, and the cultural constructs of personal relationships.
