Jo was elected MP for East Dunbartonshire in May 2005, when she was 25. She is a member of the Environmental Audit Select Committee and the Speaker’s Conference, which is looking at ways to increase the number of women and BME MPs. Jo is currently Lib Dem Spokesperson for Foreign Affairs, having previously held portfolios on equality, Scotland and the arts. She also enjoys running, reading, hiking, and ceilidh dancing.
