John teaches Arabic language and translation/interpreting studies at the University of Salford. He is also studying for his doctorate at the same university in comparative Arabic-English linguistics and translation studies, and is a published translator of Arabic poetry, prose and non-fiction. He lives in Todmorden in West Yorkshire.
