  • Professor Karen Ross

    Professor of Media & Public Communication

    University of Liverpool

    Karen teaches political communication, audiences, gender and identity.  She has published 18 books including 7 authored or co-authored volumes. She is currently working on a new collection of essays on gender and media and is writing up three collaborative research projects relating to aspects of gender and news, including the general election in New Zealand in 2008 and the British General Election in 2010.  She is the foundational editor of a new journal, Communication, Culture & Critique and sits on the editorial boards of a further 8 journals.  She was a visiting professor at Massy University in 2007 and 2010 and will be working in New Zealand again in 2011 for the general election.
