Retired statistician and teacher
Kath read psychology at Aberdeen University before taking a diploma in statistics at LSE and embarking on a career in market research, initially with the RAC and progressing to become an associate director with Taylor Nelson and Associates a market research agency. Following a career break to raise her family, Kath retrained and taught in a village primary school for a number of years before retirement. During this time she rekindled an early interest in mathematics, studying for an Open University degree and encouraging her pupils to develop a deeper engagement with maths by exploring some of the more unexpected aspects of the subject.
