Educated at Cambridge, Kerry worked in Japan and Australia before completing a post graduate diploma in mandarin and living in Inner Mongolia, China from 1994 to 1996. He then joined the Foreign Office and served in London and Beijing, before joining Chatham House in 2005. Kerry is the author of four books on China, including Friends and Enemies, The Past, Present and Future of the Communist Party of China. Find out more about his work here.
