Loraine takes the lead on strategy and development of a strong and varied events programme, media, marketing, and public engagement at ippr north. She has successfully developed the Café Politique programme of events which aims to stimulate debate among the public in politics. IPPR’s public engagement work uses innovative techniques to engage new audiences in politics, including a series of events on politics and power with schoolchildren and using innovative techniques including drama and film to capture the views of young people who have experienced child poverty. Previously, Loraine led on communications and media for national charities - including Shelter and the Children’s Society - and a London local authority.
