Margaret is a Chartered Engineer with over 15 years’ experience in the IT industry and the Managing Director of Obatec Ltd, an IT Consultancy Business. She holds a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering, an MSc(Eng.) in Manufacturing Engineering & Management, and an MSc(Eng.) in Information Systems Engineering. One of her passions is to get more women into the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) industry and as a Winston Churchill Fellow in 2009 Margaret travelled to the USA, Australia and India to look at how businesses recruited, retained and promoted women in the Industry. She is a STEM ambassador and has been an National Science and Engineering Competition Judge and moderator since 2009, Head Judge for the London Region and also South East Region Big Bang in 2015. Margaret is also a Fellow of the Institute of British Computer Society FBCS, CITP and a director and Secretary General of the International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists (INWES).
