  The Nightingale Collaboration

  A history graduate and mother of two grown up children, Maria MacLachlan has worked as a journalist, a teacher and – for more than twenty years – as a development officer in the voluntary sector. She is now co-Director of a new campaigning project called the Nightingale Collaboration, which aims to highlight and challenge misinformation in the promotion of complementary and alternative therapies. She has a passionate interest in encouraging people to develop their capacity to think critically and argue rationally and she created the Think Humanism internet discussion forum for people to practise these skills. Maria also conducts funeral ceremonies on behalf of the British Humanist Association.
