Martin is a writer, editor and adviser on environmental solutions and sustainable futures, with 25 years’ experience in the field. As a journalist, his work has been published in a wide range of newspapers and broadcast on various radio and TV networks. His TED talk on ‘The New Environmentalism’ was featured at the 2014 TEDx East End. Martin is Founding Editor of Green Futures (now the Futures Centre) the world’s leading source of environmental solutions and sustainable futures, published by Forum for the Future. He is Chair of the Editorial Board of Collectively, the new sustainability platform launched at Davos, aimed at the millennial generation, which is backed by a consortium of leading companies. He has won a number of awards as both a writer and photographer, including Science and Environment Journalist of the Year, Wildlife Photographer of the Year (runner up) and Travelex Travel Writer of the Year (runner up) and has reported on frontline environmental issues in Asia and Africa covering sustainable poverty reduction solutions. Martin advises business, government and NGOs on communicating environmental and sustainability issues effectively and recently spent two years as Director of Forum for the Future (India), the sustainable futures non-profit advisory. As such, Martin has led the successful development of Forum’s work in South Asia, helping companies and government bodies map a route to a more sustainable future.
