    freelance philosopher

    Nigel Warburton is a freelance philosopher, author, and podcaster. After completing a philosophy PhD at Cambridge University, he was lecturer in philosophy at Nottingham University and then at the Open University. His books include the best-selling A Little History of Philosophy, Philosophy: The basics, Free Speech: A very short introduction, The Art Question and Thinking from A to Z. With David Edmonds he makes the popular philosophy podcast Philosophy Bites that has been downloaded over 34 million times and is the basis of three books. He is a consultant senior editor for Aeon, editor at large for the New Philosopher, and a frequent interviewer for the website His articles have appeared in the Guardian, TLS, The Economist, Prospect Magazine, New Philosopher, Aeon, and The New European. He has spoken in debates at both Oxford and Cambridge Unions, and is a frequent contributor to BBC radio.
