PEOPLE

  • Nina Powell

    PhD Researcher

School of Psychology, University of Birmingham

Nina is a Phd student interested in implicit and explicit moral judgments, and the conservation of moral outrage. She intends to better understand the dichotomy in moral reasoning literature, suggesting that morality is either reasoned or intuitive, by studying the developmental changes in children’s moral judgments. Nina believes we are living during an interesting period in history with moral dissonance and moral panic playing a major role in decision making; everything has a moral component, from recycling to parenting. Her goal is to understand culturally what has led us to this point as a society, and how and when these moral principles emerge.
