    After reading law at Trinity College Oxford, Patrick joined Burson-Marsteller, one of the worlds largest public relations agencies, based in London and Brussels. He subsequently continued his work in public relations, joining business group London First as public affairs manager, and later becoming director of communications, before moving onto Finnish telecomes company Sonera, and then on to Unilever in 2002 as head of UK communications. At Unilever, Patrick’s responsibilities included public affairs, media relations, the corporate brand and the arts sponsorship of The Unilever Series at Tate Modern. Patrick then joined Reed Elsevier as deputy director of corporate relations in January 2005, before becoming director of corporate communications with responsibility for internal and external communications. Patrick is a non-executive director of the Whitehall & Industry Group.
