    Peter was born and raised in Belfast. After studying Politics and Theatre Studies, he travelled to the USA to work on funfairs before moving to London to make bespoke office furniture for ten years. A recession in the building trade saw him reduced to retraining as a BBC reporter. Peter drove a battery powered car 4,500 miles around Europe for the BBC’s Electric Ride eco-series and this summer he is recording the second series of Radio 4’s anthropological series The Tribes of Science.  He has written and presented many arts and culture programmes for televsion and radio including Loose Ends (Radio 4) When Art Went Pop (BBC2) Culture Fx (BBC Knowledge) and Wired World (C4). His reviews and features have appeared in Sight and Sound and Mail on Sunday. Peter also produces and directs documentaries for radio and TV such as The Teaching Challenge and Changing Colours with British televsion’s ethnic pioneers.
