  • Professor Philip Moriarty

    Professor of Physics

    University of Nottingham

    Philip Moriarty is a Professor of Physics and an Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Fellow at the University of Nottingham. His research interests lie in the general area of nanoscience but with a particular focus on single atom/molecule manipulation and spectroscopy. He also has a keen interest in science funding policy and public engagement with science, and has been involved in a number of debates and workshops on these themes in recent years.  He was a panel member for the debate “What are universities for?” at the Battle of Ideas Festival 2010. He is also a regular contributor to Nottingham’s Sixty Symbols YouTube project which has, as of August 2011, attracted a total of 6.2 million views.
