  • Professor Philippa Saunders

    Researcher in Microbiology

    University of Edinburgh

    Philippa has a degree in Microbiology and PhD from Cambridge University. Her research has mainly focused on the way(s) in which the sex steroids (androgens and oestrogens) control development of the reproductive organs and their influence on fertility in both men and women. Her laboratory uses molecular approaches, human tissues, cell based studies and animal models. Philippa has published more than 160 scientific papers and supervised 30 postgraduate students.
