    Ross is a former Member of the Scottish Youth Parliament and DM alumnus, having reached the National Final in 2012.
    He briefly studied psychology & politics at Strathclyde University but left in December 2012 to move from a part to full-time position as communities coordinator for the Yes Scotland campaign. Between September 2014 and April 2016 he worked for the Scottish Greens, whom he had joined at aged 15, taking the post of head of campaigns, communications and fundraising.
    In May 2016, he was elected as the youngest MSP in the history of the Scottish Parliament at aged 21. He holds the education & skills, culture & media and Europe & external affairs portfolios for the Scottish Greens.
    Outside of parliament, Ross is active within the Church of Scotland, advocating for radical reform of the Kirk and a shift towards a revolutionary movement rather than institutional model.
