    Roy has worked as a youth worker and manager since 1998, training in Informal and Community Education, his street-based work enriched his love for debate and discussion, regularly engaging young people on issues that mattered to them. In 2012 Roy completed his MA in European Studies of Youth Work and Social Disadvantage, where he conducted a research project on the impact of the Internet and Social Media on young people’s political engagement and activism. Outside of work, Roy is a writer and runs an open mic night for poetry, music, comedy and other forms of creative performance called Seasonally Effected. He is also the Chair of Medway Speakers’ Corner, an organisation set up in 2014 to celebrate and promote freedom of expression in the Medway Towns.
