    Sam has been involved with Debating Matters since 2007, when his team reached the National Final. Since then, he has worked as an intern at the Institute of Ideas and the House of Commons, and graduated from Oxford with an undergraduate degree in PPE. In September this year he joined the Folkestone Academy as an English teacher via Teach First. He has written on politics and culture for the Oxford Left Review, Politics Matters, and Culture Wars, and blogged on modern China at Smash All Old Things. His resolutions for 2013 included visiting lots of castles, reading a hundred novels and learning to iron a shirt (at least two of which have already been accomplished).
