    Sean is a historian and broadcaster. He taught in schools and was Head of History at Hills Road Sixth Form College; he also lectured in the School of Education at Exeter University, where he ran the History PGCE course. He served twice as Honorary Secretary of the Historical Association and has worked on history teaching with both Labour and coalition governments, as well as the Council of Europe. As Chair of the Better History Forum he contributed to Michael Gove’s review of the history curriculum. He broadcasts regularly on local radio and has appeared frequently on television. As well as academic writings, he has written four history books in the ‘for Dummies’ series, including “British History for Dummies” and “First World War for Dummies”, in association with the Imperial War Museum.
