Simon Nixon is the chief European commentator at the Wall Street Journal and also a weekly columnist for The Times. His writing focuses on pan-European politics and economics and he has reported extensively on all the major crises to hit Europe over the last decade including the global financial crisis, the Greek debt crisis, the migration crisis and Brexit. Before joining the WSJ in 2008, he was a financial journalist for Reuters Breakingviews, The Week and MoneyWeek. He has a first class degree in history from Trinity College, Cambridge, and is a former president of the Cambridge Union Society. He lives in London with his wife and four children.
