Susan has been a secondary science teacher and teacher educator at the University of Strathclyde. Currently she continues to work with student teachers, writes and provides science for the Continued Professional Development. Susan is interested in the public understanding of science and ran a project working with schools and universities in Scotland, and is an active member of Association for Science Education, where she was UK national chair in 2003/04.
