Taylor was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. He is interested in how innovation can be channelled in ways that address major social challenges facing our world, and currently works as a research fellow at the University of Sussex and is studying innovation and systemic risk in financial markets. In 2007, Taylor worked in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy on issues relating to nanotechnology, telecommunications and the Internet. He has degrees in economics and mathematics from Arizona State University, and technology and innovation policy from the University of Sussex, where he studied as a US-UK Fulbright Scholar.
