Thomas comes from Bognor Regis and studied History at Oxford. He then taught English in Korea, Italy and in the UK. After this he studied law and worked as a legal clerk in criminal and family law. Thomas currently works in teaching and administrating adult learning in Hampshire Libraries. He has written and campaigned on issues such as EU membership, ID cards and criminal law. He used to debate at school and university but never won more than a trip to Butlins.
