  • Timandra Harkness

    Freelance writer

    Timandra co-wrote and performed ‘Your Days Are Numbered: the maths of death’, a surprise hit at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2010 - her third season there. Her other writing includes two short films, which she also directed, shown at festivals in the UK and abroad. Timandra is formerly director of FameLab, Cheltenham Science Festival’s search for new talent in Science Communication, and she hosts events for the Wellcome Collection and the British Council, among others, and trains scientists and engineers in communication skills. Timandra won the 1997 Independent newspaper column-writing competition with a short piece on goat-borrowing. She now writes for publications including the Daily Telegraph, WIRED and BBC Focus on science, technology, transport and travel, motoring and motorcycles.
